Jake Sansing

After getting out of the Army in 2011, I returned to my home state of Tennessee and quickly found myself homeless following a tornado. I then began walking between towns to look for work but no one wanted to hire me because I was homeless. Although I wasn’t having any luck at finding a job, I quickly realized that walking was helping with my PTSD, so I decided to walk across America just to see what it would do for me. I have been walking since 2013 and have already been through every state in the US except for Hawaii, covering over 17,000 miles so far.
